Waltlec Industries recently completed the rebuild for the Mike Carney Toyota showroom, offices and warehouse after the existing was devastatingly ruined by fire in July 2016. Waltlec Industries were appointed by the builder to undertake the Electrical and Communications works.
The works included,
• A new main switchboard and distribution boards.
• New mains and submains.
• LED lighting and LED colour changing ribbon throughout.
• Emergency and exit light system.
• Complex building management system delivered by a Clipsal C-bus and Dali control system which controlled the light levels at different intervals of the day and night. Electric motor control for the blinds which lower automatically throughout the day to block sun light penetration, DLT touchscreen controls, time control for security lighting and much more.
• In-ground, suspended, three phase and generic power solutions throughout.
• Panduit certified communications system deliver by Waltlec’s sub-contractor.
The new facility is truly impressive and the perfect home to house one of Australia’s most popular automobile brands.

Recently completed was the refurbishment of the Central sterile supply department at the Townsville General Hospital. The project included,
• New Nexus monitored emergency/exit light systems allowing the end user to manage the entire installation – installing and removing components, testing and monitoring the system and managing maintenance activities thus saving time and money on maintenance. The system operates in real-time, indicating any change of status of network components by changing their icon colour in the Nexus Wired Emergency Lighting Monitoring System window. It can test and report on the status of the entire emergency lighting in an installation individually, in groups or all together.
• Belden certified communications and data cabling.
• Automated LED lighting for energy efficiency and sterile environment.
• Security installation with swipe access control and intercom systems.
• Installation of new clinical washers
• A multitude of specialized power solutions for sterile environment
The job was done in stages under difficult operating conditions with procedures put in place to ensure the job site was air tight to allow operation of some sections of the sterile supply department.

Waltlec recently completed the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) refurbishment, the project included the refurbishment of the main interactive library which had a very impressive 24m interactive lycra media screen complete with scene changing coloured strip lights, executive offices and east main administration block with state of the art lighting and built in automation, a new café and kitchen with a variety of power solutions. Waltlec completed the full electrical package including communications, access control, Closed Circuit Television, Master Antenna Television and audio-visual works. Overall the new building features LED lighting throughout, a multitude of power solutions a complex C-Bus automation system.

Waltlec are proud to contribute to a large-scale project as the new Aurizon freight distribution centre.
The freight distribution centre included a gatehouse, office facility, large warehouse, fuel facility, wash-down facility, rail intermodal pad and much more. The project produced some impressive statistics for Waltlec including installing 5km of underground conduit, over 60 in ground service pits, 49 x street light poles, over 300 lights and countless power solutions. Waltlec have truly completed every facet from go to whoa.

Recently completed was the construction of the new Clinical Education Space at the Townsville General Hospital. The project includes the supply, installation, test and commissioning of:

Waltlec completed the Electrical, Airconditioning & Data fit out of 108 new rooms within the new demountable sleeping quarters. Waltlec also completed power infrastructure with installation of full underground Mains and power distribution boards, street lighting and much more.
This project was located in a remote township approximately 12 hours from Townsville which made organisation to tackle logistics a high priority. Waltlec completed its task on time and within budget.

Waltlec recently completed Electrical works for a New Block C, Mercy House Refurbishment, Block A Refurbishment at St Mary’s Campus, Columba Catholic College Charters Towers. The job consisted of new underground pit and pipe system, multitude of power solutions, LED type panel lighting, LED strip lighting, elevator and new distribution boards. A clever selection of low impact light fittings and fixtures makes the new Block C blend seemingly with one of the oldest buildings in Charters Towers, Mercy house. The new Ryan Catholic College Stage Two, is a significant upgrade of the covered area and tuckshop, transformation of Library to new staff preparation area and the addition of a home science block and hospitality block.
This new facility with a mix of already impressive stage one upgrades makes Ryan Catholic College on the forefront of educational precincts within the Townsville community.
Waltlec was privileged to work for A. Gabrielli Constructions to complete the site wide electrical package and with our team of sub contractors, fire, security, audio visual, master antenna television systems and communications installations.
The job consisted of intensive underground pit and pipe systems, four new distribution boards, new sub-mains, new power outlets and sub circuits, energy efficient LED lighting solutions throughout all the new buildings and connecting walkways, HDMI, Wireless access points, projectors, security, fire alarm systems and the list goes on.

Recently completed was the construction of the new Mater Rehabilitation Unit at the Mater Hospital Townsville. The project includes the supply, installation, test and commissioning of new monitored emergency/exit light systems, communication and data, Merlon Technologies nurse call system and automatic fire alarms all integrated into the old Mater Health system. The project included all new automated LED lighting and new essential distributed power to the whole premise. We are extremely happy to have this project completed on time and within budget.

Waltlec recently completed a major facility upgrade to St Anthony’s Catholic College Deeragun. The project includes a new Administration building, refurb and extension of old administration, New Tuckshop, New Library, New uniform shop, New Meeting room, New Amenities, New dental van facility and refurb L block classrooms. Waltlec’s work consisted of a new substantial upgrade to power supply, running new consumer mains to a dedicated 550KVA transformer, full pit and pipe system, new main switch board with 3meter x 4.5m cast insitu pit, new distribution boards, lighting solutions and various power solutions. The Job consisted of complex arrangement of group lighting including pendants, downlights, LED strip lights, signage lights and external lights. The lighting is controlled by a Lutron system allowing automatic light levels for day and night trade. The Nando’s Palmer Street also had a multitude of power solutions from commercial cooking equipment, cold room, general power and a new distribution board. This unique state of the art multi-story learning facility is one of the most impressive buildings Waltlec has completed to date. The new flying start project completed at Kirwan High School is situated on the corner of Thuringowa Drive and Hudson Street. The facility stands high above all other buildings with an architecturally bold design. Love it or hate it, there is no denying its presence.
Waltlec completed the full underground system for Electrical and Communications. Consisting of an extensive pit and pipe system dug and installed by Waltlec’s senior tradesman and operator Joel Walters. Joel has grown to be an integral part of the Waltlec team with the company’s acquisitions of an excavator, skid steer and tipper, with both Joel and Grant licensed to operate. This really is a massive advantage on completing a job of this size, within time and in budget.
The building itself was completed by project foreman Timothy Bus. Timothy not only completed the Electrical for the building, but with the support of project manager Joshua Peters managed our team of sub contractors to complete the fire, security, AV design and DETA data installation. The building consisted of five large power distribution switchboards, a complex Dali energy management lighting system, mechanical cooling throughout and a multitude of power solutions.

Waltlec installed a 40kW Photovoltaic Solar System for the rooftop of Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville. The Project is part of the Townsville Network Demand Pilot Project which aims to reduce Townsville City Council's peak and daily electrical demand. The system comprises of 160 x 250W modules and 3 x SMA 12000TL Tripower inverters all mounted on the mechanical roof deck. The PV system produces over 68000 kWh per year, which significantly reduces the stadium's demand on the electricity network. This was a very technical install with many parties involved including traffic control, cranes and council employees.

Waltlec installed a 30kW Photovoltaic solar system on the Queensland Government Thursday Island office building. Thursday Island is part of the Torres Strait group of islands and is not connected to the national electricity grid. This means the island's 4,000 residents rely on electricity from diesel generators and wind generation. The system comprises of 150 x Sanyo HIT modules, 3 x SMA 10kW Inverters and a display monitoring advising residence of Solar production, CO2 Savings, Ambient and panel temperatures. Coupled with transportation to the remote community this was a job that took a lot of planning to delivery on time and in budget.

Solarus Apartments are located in the heart of Townsville on Palmer Street. Consisting of 73 lots, the complex boasts spectacular water views and a location second-to-none in the central nightlife district. Waltlec were engaged to install a 33kw Grid Connect Photovoltaic solar system for the body corporate power; this consisted of elevators, security lights, corridor lights and central Airconditioning. The project involved mounting rail and racking to the concrete roof of the building. The job was completed on time and in budget and the view was fantastic.

Early in 2012 Waltlec were engaged to tender on the supply, design and installation of a grid connect Solar Photovoltaic to HMAS Cairns. With the engagement of a draftsperson we designed and had drawn the full system and handed in with our successful proposal. The System comprises of 170 x Kyocera 235W Multicrystalline Solar Modules on an open basketball court with its own stainless steel inverter enclosure containing 4 x SMA 10000TL Tripower inverters. The system is estimated to yield 68000kWh per year with a CO2 savings of around 38 tonnes. The system also comprises of a full weather station and monitoring system displaying all results on a weatherproof television.
